Human Factors Engineer

Madison, WI

Design Concepts, a product design consultancy, is seeking a Human Factors Engineer to join our team in Madison, Wisconsin.

We are a strategic design and innovation consultancy with over 50 years of experience in driving business success through the design of products and services that improve people’s lives. Our 70 multidisciplinary professionals in our Madison, San Francisco, and Boston offices help clients, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups, grow their business by envisioning new opportunities and then realizing those opportunities as products and services that are exciting and commercially successful.

Members of the department of Human Factors work within project teams to systematically study the interaction between users, the tools they employ, the tasks they perform, and the environments within which they work and play. The insights gained through contextual inquiry, conceptualization, and validation research will help Design Concepts develop products that better match the capabilities, limitations, needs, and expectations of the people who use them. Rather than merely critiquing or analyzing the designs of others, the Human Factors Engineer at Design Concepts must play an active role in shaping a product vision and generating concepts that accommodate observed use behaviors, satisfy user needs, prevent use errors, and improve the quality of use experience.
