Abstract/ Design a youth batting helmet with a new appearance, improved ventilation, and an innovative adjustment feature. Challenge/ Attract young ballplayers to style and satisfy adults' safety concerns. Create a competitive advantage: a quick, simple method of adjustment. Solution/ One-point, pull-tab adjustment system allows one helmet to comfortably fit all players. Alternating textured and polished surfaces create visual impact and improved durability. Pre-curved brim offers shading similar to baseball caps. Results/ Projected sales volume: 10K units. Actual sales volume: 750K units. Wilson captured 15% market share (they previously had none). Worn by 15 of the 16 teams in the 2003 Little League World Series. Awards/
