Abstract/
Help the University of Wisconsin-Madison Space Astronomy Laboratory
design and document the Imaging Spectrograph for the Prime Focus
Instrument Package of the South African Large Telescope (SALT).
Challenge/
Work closely with UW-SAL to make sure that they met their
timeline obligations for deliverable.
Solution/
Design Concepts aided UW-SAL with selection of component fabrication
methods, fabrication-drive design refinement, and creation of fully
dimensioned and toleranced fabrication drawings.
Results/
UW-SAL was able to uphold its SALT project responsibilities (schedule and budget)
by effectively utilizing Design Concepts' instrumentation design engineering and
SDRC-IDEAS expertise to complement their own astronomy instrumentation expertise.
