Abstract/
Bring a long out-of-production floor sweeper up to current standards of appearance and functionality for the emerging Chinese market.
Challenge/
Graft modern appearance and functionality into a 1970’s era mechanical system, improve the appearance, usability, ergonomics, service access, durability and manufacturability.
Solution/
Identified and applied family appearance cues from Tennant’s latest product line. Improved sightlines, added temporary storage for cleaning tools, cell phones, etc. Improved ergonomics of handlebar and controls. Utilized tool-less fasteners for service access panels. Maintained all the existing functionality.
Results/
The Tennant S10 Industrial Walk-Behind Sweeper has been completely updated to complement the existing brand. The product is sold as a best-in-class machine that sweeps tight and open spaces better than any other walk-behind sweeper.
