Abstract/
Develop a new break-away basketball net clip that increases player safety while making net installation and use more intuitive.
Challenge/
Huffy asked Design Concepts to design and develop a new, easy-to-install break-away basketball net clip that would work with multiple rim designs, something their existing clip did not do. The new clip had to be easier to install because their existing clip was not very intuitive.
Solution/
Design Concepts conceptualized, analyzed, and designed a new Smart Clip that met all functional, compulsory, and safety requirements.
Results/
The new Smart Clip greatly improves player safety and is easier to install. Customers can use the new clip with two different rim styles, and the product is currently sold through retailers like Target and Wal-Mart. The Design Concepts Smart Clip now comes standard on all Huffy Sports Basketball Systems.
