Abstract/ Create a power and data distribution system that seamlessly integrates with flexible workplace furniture to offer businesses the functional, spiritual opposite of a cubicle farm. Challenge/ Bretford's office desk line, Free, lacked an adaptable power and data delivery system. We developed a system that worked with the ergonomic, mobile desk and allowed quick reconfiguration of the workplace without costly electricians or downtime. Solution/ Modular, tool-less connections can be reconfigured on the fly. Ease of moving the channels, supports, and desks promotes a high degree of user control, design freedom, and teaming that appeals to interior designers and people at work. Results/ Liquid is the first of its kind in the office systems furniture industry. It achieves greater floorplan density than panel (cubicle) systems, saving space costs. Liquid's "lay in place" management of power and data cables puts an end to time-intensive electrician pull-through wire routing. Awards/ "Best of NeoCon®" Gold Winner, 2003
