Work/Description
Abstract/
Develop a new line of scientific instruments to aid medical
researchers and physicians with tissue sampling and analysis.
Challenge/
Design a new Tissue Micro Arrayer with significantly
improved functionality, ergonomics, and aesthetics, over
existing Micro Arrayers.
Solution/
Design Concepts developed two complete production-level Micro
Array systems and provided working prototypes of each: a manually
operated Tissue Arrayer and a semi-automatic Tissue Arrayer.
Results/
Orders for the new Tissue Arrayer exceeded sales targets for
the first year. The return on design and development investment
was less than 6 months.
