Tennant S10 Sweeper
Tennant, manufacturer of indoor and outdoor environmental cleaning solutions, chose Design Concepts to bring a long out-of-production floor sweeper up to current standards of appearance and functionality for the emerging Chinese market.
Design Concepts team of designers and engineers worked to graft a modern appearance and functionality with a 1970’s era mechanical system. The team’s solutions improved appearance, usability, ergonomics, service access, durability and manufacturability.
The team identified and applied family appearance cues from Tennant’s latest product line. They improved sightlines, added temporary storage for cleaning tools, cell phones and more. They improved the ergonomics of the handlebar and controls, and utilized tool-less fasteners to easily access service panels. Design updates and improvements were made while maintaining all of the units existing functionality.
