Cardiac Science Burdick Atria 6100

Cardiac Science develops and manufactures advanced diagnostic and therapeutic cardiology devices marketed under industry-leading brands including Burdick. In their commitment for continuous improvement, Cardiac Science indentified an opportunity to improve the operation of the printer component of the Burdick Atria 6100 electrocardiograph (ECG/EKG) system.

Design Concepts provided mechanical refinements to the print engine. The refinements improved repeatability of the printer, reduced assembly time and demonstrated cost reductions. Throughout the project, Design Concepts ensured ongoing communication with all project participants including teams internal to Cardiac Science, collaborating partners, manufacturers and vendors. Engineers addressed improvements in paper tracking, manufacturing robustness and system & component reliability to meet the goals and challenges of the project. In addiiton the new design minimized assembly variations.

The new print engine delivers a consistently high quality printout of ECG/EKG results for doctors and clinicians.
