Beecher Micro-Arrayer

Beecher Industries manufactures products for cell and tissue-based research and is the pioneer in tissue array technology. Design Concepts was enlisted to develop a new line of arrayer instruments to assist medical researchers and physicians with tissue sampling and analysis.

Design Concepts’ team designed a new Micro Arrayer with significantly improved functionality, ergonomics and aesthetics over existing instruments. The team developed two complete production-level micro array systems and provided working prototypes of each: a manually operated tissue arrayer and a semi-automatic tissue arrayer.

In its first year on the market, orders for the newest Beecher Micro Arrayer exceeded sales targets. The return on the design and development investment was less than 6 months.
