ECR International, Inc ECR97

ECR International, a full-service provider of American engineered-and-manufactured hydronic and forced air products under brand names such as Dunkirk and Pennco, is recognized for its innovation, quality and performance. They enlisted Design Concepts to understand their company and brand and develop a notable aesthetic for a new, flagship boiler system to be the first product branded exclusively under the ECR name. The aesthetic would apply to not only the initial product but serve as the foundation for all future ECR branded products.

Designers worked to fully understand the company mission and vision and develop a distinct, compelling design language to convey the new direction of ECR. The design team translated goals into visual elements and created an attractive outer "jacket" for the ECR97 to significantly update a traditional boiler appearance and create strong design elements and highlight use features. The form is bold and modern, yet completely appropriate for a residential basement or mechanical room.

The removable outer jacket is a crisp, dynamic form using a metallic accent material. Their solution ensured that the ergonomics, appearance and serviceability were appropriate for a wall or floor mount installations. ECR97's distinct, modern, attractive aesthetic underscores the company's new brand identity and serves as the visual benchmark for future products.
