Activeion Ionator EXP™

Activeion Cleaning Solutions enlisted the help of Design Concepts to apply new technology to develop an environmentally-friendly commercial cleaning alternative to harsh chemicals used in commercial settings.

Designers observed the needs of commercial cleaning crews in hotels, sporting venues and commercial office spaces. Their observations guided the eletromechanical engineering of a functional prototype.

Design Concepts’ team designed an easy to use, cost effective, handheld product, the Activeion Ionator EXP™, that utilizes existing activated water electrolysis technology. They worked within a relatively short timeline to ensure the product was quickly introduced and available to commercial cleaners.

To use the Ionator EXP™, the dispenser is filled with normal tap water. The water is pumped from a reservoir into a “water cell” to electrolyze it, separating the water into alkaline and acidic parts. The ionized water is recombined and released through a misting nozzle. During the 30 seconds needed to neutralize the ionized water molecules, the alkaline constituents break up non-synthetic dirt particles and suspend them in the solution while the acidic constituents disinfect. The Ionator EXP™ battery pack lasts for an extended period of time and is easily rechargeable.
