Dave Franchino, president of Design Concepts, was among 20 innovation experts worldwide invited by The Rockefeller Foundation to convene June 26-29, 2008, at the Bellagio Conference and Study Center, Bellagio, Italy.

Franchino joined decision makers from a cross-section of the international design community for an in-depth exploration of ways in which human-centered design can address the most serious societal problems.
“I am extremely honored to collaborate with leaders in design and discuss strategies to address global issues. This is an amazing opportunity for the product and strategic thinking community to help create a framework to address the planet’s most challenging social needs. I can’t think of a more exciting and meaningful way to use the experience and insights I’ve gained in the business world than to join together with colleagues and commit to advancing social change.”

The Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Conference program provides opportunities for invited guests to discuss issues, develop action plans and design creative approaches to addressing the world’s most pressing issues, particularly the alleviation of poverty and vulnerability. The program puts into action the mission of The Rockefeller Foundation to, “support work around the world to expand opportunities for poor or vulnerable people and to help ensure that globalization’s benefits are more widely shared.” Learn More About The Rockefeller Foundation
