Maddie's Miracle 2007.
On October 2, 2007, Design Concepts presented a $10,000 donation to the American Family Children’s Hospital to honor the memory of Madeline Rose Hunter, daughter of Design Concepts’ director of information services Mark Hunter and his wife Robin.

Earlier in the summer, Design Concepts staff came together for the 2nd annual Maddie’s Miracle. Julie Norvaisas and Ami Verhalen led the Design Concepts staff in organizing the event. Maddie’s Miracle was held at Carriage Hills Park in Sun Prairie on August 16th, 2007 and celebrated the life of Maddie Hunter with a family-friendly carnival complete with games, prizes and a dunk tank. The many people who participated in the event were inspired by Maddie's joyous life and loving family.

Thanks to the kindness of friends, colleague and clients, on October 2nd, 2007, Ami Verhalen, director of industrial design, joined Mark and Robin Hunter in presenting a $10,000 gift to American Family Children’s Hospital where a patient recovery room will be named in Maddie’s honor. Tom Young, American Family Children’s Hospital's community relations manager, accepted the check on behalf of the newly designed facility intended specifically for the challenging medical needs of children and their families.
