Design Concepts’ principals Stefanie Norvaisas, director of strategy & research, and Ami Verhalen, director of industrial design, lead a PDMA webinar series to introduce design thinking – an approach to innovation that is changing business as usual.
A two-part Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) Webcast series explores the “what,” “why,” and “how” of design thinking. Norvaisas and Verhalen lead each one-hour session and introduce this valuable approach to innovation.
Session One
Thursday, Oct. 14 @ 1:00pm CDT/ 2:00pm EDT/ 11:00am PDT
Design Thinking – the “what” and “why”
The session articulates what design thinking is all about, and why it’s unique from approaches typically used in traditional companies. Norvaisas and Verhalen demystify design thinking and explain why it is a powerful approach to innovation and product development.
Session Two
Thursday, Oct. 28 @ 1:00pm CDT/ 2:00pm EDT/ 11:00am PDT
Design Thinking – the “how”
Having answered the “what” and “why” of design thinking, Norvaisas and Verhalen tackle “how” and share practical, creative, actionable approaches to fostering this approach. They’ll share stories from the field and lend insights into practical steps to change corporate culture and put design thinking into daily use.
Each discussion encourages attendees to take part in the discussion and talk about their triumphs and challenges to innovation.
