What a brilliant idea, but I suspect you are right - not going to happen. 

Unfortunately, the barrier (in my humble opinion) is not so much around the technical questions and interactions, which would be fascinating, but more around the politics.

My guess is that any ideas would be seized upon by the lawyers and politicos and declared to be the latest reason for Toyota&#039;s problems. From Toyota&#039;s perspective this would mean even more PR issues they would need to defend and more technical arguments they would have to present to people who don&#039;t understand (or don&#039;t want to understand).

Now, don&#039;t get me wrong here. I have NO sympathy for a company that risks people&#039;s lives but a career in Product Management, Engineering and Manufacturing have taught me to go find the data before deciding on the solution. Unfortunately the mood seems to be more about which hunting than solutions at this point.
