Manute and some of the Bucks were on hand to work out and Bol clowned around with his, posing for photographs of us blocking his shot or soaring over his head for a slam dunk. Thanks for writing about Manute. What a great story. I think I remember him at the Golden State Warriors, and probably had the typical reaction of curiosity and judging him mostly unfavorable on some set of athletic ideals. This story of unselfish care for others is truly remarkable in contrast to the shallow focus in our world of entertainment. I'm moved. I don't follow sports anymore, except an occasional check on internet; it seems so trivial to me now, in a world of need. He showed charity and humility, which is the true mark of courage. Even at the jeers and ridicule of people, he gave up himself for those in need. That example is a challenge to us! Wow! What a great story. I love basketball (Kobe since 96) Yes GO LAKERS! But it was a very interesting read. Yes we are all interested in the exteremely tall and short like gheorge muresan and mugsy and such.
